Updated in 2025 by the ALFA International Workers’ Compensation Practice Group members, this Compendium is designed to serve as a single resource regarding important workers’ compensation legal issues.
Specific issues addressed are:- Available defenses to a workers’ compensation action
- Occupational Disease (including respiratory and repetitive use)
- Tort immunity for employers
- Injuries involving drugs and/or alcohol
- Procedural directives for litigation of a workers’ compensation claim
- Insurance requirements and availability
Two new questions were added to the updated Compendium:
- Question 6: What psychiatric claims or treatment are compensable and is PTSD a compensable diagnosis?
- Question 29: Are there any specific compensability requirements or applicable statutes for hybrid employees?
