A federal judge in Springfield has largely pulled the plug on a class action lawsuit against a Taylorville retail merchandising company, saying they can use arbitration agreements to defeat a class action accusing them of shorting worker pay. The plaintiffs asserted that they were underpaid by the company in minimum wage and overtime pay guidelines, which lead to the class action lawsuit. However, the retailer, Driveline, filed that there are clauses in place to take such disagreements to arbitration rather than a lawsuit on individual or class action basis.
Driveline, is represented by attorneys Kathryn D. Terry, of Phillips Murrah P.C., of Oklahoma City; and Denise Baker-Seal, of Brown & James P.C., of Belleville. Click HERE to learn more about the case.
