Al-Hamad Legal Group is spearheaded by the principal partner and founder, Rana Al-Hamad. The firm is comprised of a respected group of attorneys and legal consultants who collectively have more than 80 years of legal practice experience. The attorneys and legal consultants at the firm have extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, government contracts and international transactions from all phases, including due diligence, deal structuring, management of the investments and final liquidation and exit. The firm is familiar with the many aspects of foreign joint ventures, including their creation, management and disposition. The firm has been involved in the creation and acquisitions of subsidiaries and joint ventures in most of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman, and the firm has continued affiliations with one or more attorneys in these countries.

The firm has negotiated various joint venture agreements relating to large infrastructure projects such as power generation plants, water desalination plants and sewage and wastewater projects. The firm has negotiated and documented the projects described above with local governments on build, operate and transfer (BOT) arrangements and other concession-type deals. In addition, the firm has gained expertise in structuring finance transactions to be compliant under Islamic principles having consummated deals both in the GCC and in the United States. Also, the firm has extensive experience in advising, drafting and negotiating agency, distributorship and franchise agreements between foreign principals and GCC entities. The firm has also assisted in litigation, arbitration and settlement of various disputes involving the transactions described above.
