About the Webinar:

The effects of the COVID-19 crisis continue to linger in the construction/building industry even as some states loosen their respective Stay-At-Home/Shelter-In-Place orders. This webinar discusses the current environment and best practices from US and UK perspectives relating to job site protocols and contractual provisions intended to aid contractors/builders/owners in compliance as well as shielding them from potential claims.

Panelists:

SUZANNE MULVIHILL is a skilled transactional partner with ALFA International member firm Haight Brown Bonesteel LLP in Los Angeles, CA, who assists clients on sophisticated business and corporate matters and complex real estate transactions. Suzanne represents owners, investors, developers and lenders in various aspects of commercial real estate, from contract through closing, on complex issues related to the ownership structuring, purchase, sale, development, investment and financing of mixed-use, office, retail, and industrial projects. She advises clients on a wide spectrum of tax issues, including ownership and transaction specific structuring. She also represents clients in connection with purchases and sales of businesses, including mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, stock purchases and sales across all industries. Suzanne received her master’s degree in tax law (LLM) from Boston University School of Law, is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law and received her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University.

DAVID SAVAGE is a partner with ALFA International member firm, Charles Russell Speechlys, in Guildford, UK, where he specializes in both UK & international construction law. David is qualified as both a solicitor and a barrister (member of Middle Temple), and joined legacy firm Charles Russell in 2005 to establish and lead its construction practice. Chambers describes him as “extremely impressive & client-focused in all matters” with “first-class knowledge” and “extremely persuasive and yet wisely diplomatic negotiating style.” Chambers 2020 also lists him as a Band 1 “Leader in his Field.” Legal 500 describes him as “the kind of litigator you want on your side – good with the law, a fantastic thinker and able to engage in commercial bargaining with the other side,” listing him as Leading Individual. David acts for developers, institutions, contractors, funders, designers and construction consultants. In his international work, David is particularly focused on the Middle East, and is currently advising a government client on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region. He also delivers training on FIDIC and IChemE contracts throughout the MENA region, including in Bahrain, UAE, Syria and Oman. David writes and speaks widely on construction law topics in both UK and internationally. David also has a particular interest in technology and digital disruption in the construction and property sectors, and also speaks on these topics.
