Giancarlo de la Gasca is a specialist in Intellectual Property and Litigation with over 16 years of related experience. He is Licensed by the Supreme Court of El Salvador as a Lawyer as well as a Notary Public. Furthermore, he is an Arbitrator listed within the Roster of Neutrals of the Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce (CAMARASAL) as well as the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI). 

Giancarlo’s experience includes having worked at law firms in El Salvador and the United States, as well as being head of the Registration and Intellectual Property Department at a major Regional Financial Institution. He has focused is practice in the prosecution and enforcement of trademarks, patents and copyrights in El Salvador. As a litigator, he has successfully represented numerous clients in commercial disputes and settlements, related to intellectual property and other business issues.

Giancarlo has tried numerous cases with the Administrative Law Courts of El Salvador, both suing and defending government entities. Moreover, he has successfully represented clients at the Supreme Court of El Salvador obtaining favorable rulings. Giancarlo has served as adjunct professor of Intellectual Property, Contract Law and Commercial Litigation at the University Jose Matias Delgado. Currently he is adjunct professor of Business Law at the MBA program of Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador.

Giancarlo  has been ranked by Chambers & Partners as a Leading Intellectual Property Attorney (2008, 2015 – 2018), and has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal and Latin Lawyer’s independent research as one of the 37 leading Intellectual Property attorneys for Central America, while still under the age of 40.
