Garrett Boehm Jr.
Garrett L. Boehm, Jr., concentrates his practice in appellate law, business litigation, class action law, employment, environmental and toxic tort law. He is chair of the firm's Class Action practice and co-chair of its Appellate Law and Environmental Law practices.
Garrett has prosecuted and defended appeals in a wide array of tort, contract, class action and administrative law matters before all Illinois courts of review and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In the business litigation sphere, Garrett has handled the defense of class action disputes involving allegations of consumer fraud, violation of federal statutes such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act, among others. Garrett also advises corporations and individuals in employment and labor disputes. He has represented corporations in commercial contract disputes in court and at arbitration.
Garrett advises corporations, public entities, and individuals in matters involving alleged violation of federal and state environmental statutes and regulations. Garrett is actively involved in the litigation of multiparty hazardous waste cases involving CERCLA and other federal and state statutes. He also counsels clients on compliance with hazardous waste regulations, assists in the response to chemical spills and accidents, and helps clients meet environmental permitting requirements.
In addition, Garrett litigates toxic tort disputes involving occupational exposure to asbestos for corporations throughout Illinois.
Garrett has been honored as an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” He also has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, and the Appellate Lawyers Association.
