Semmes, Bowen & Semmes (Baltimore, MD) Announces Attorney Promotions

Semmes, Bowen & Semmes is pleased to announce that Barry D. Bernstein was elected to be the new vice chair of the firm to succeed Lawrence G. Giambelluca, who has served in the role since 2018.

“To be elected as vice chair of a firm with such a rich history is a tremendous honor and at the same time humbling,” said Barry. “I began working at this firm 23 years ago right before I began law school and have climbed every level from paralegal/law clerk to associate and principal. Additionally, Semmes, Bowen & Semmes would like to congratulate the three new principals, Matthew J. McCloskeyRichard J. Medoff, and Zachary D. Schlein, all of whom are members of their Litigation Practice Group.

Matthew focuses on insurance coverage, insurance defense, products liability, and construction litigation. He is a 2014 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Richard focuses on civil defense litigation in the areas of commercial disputes, insurance defense, products liability, toxic torts, premises liability, and business litigation. He is a 2015 graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

Zachary has spent the majority of his career litigating large and complex civil cases, including lead-exposure cases and nursing home negligence cases. He is a 2012 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law.
