QSLWM shareholder Mark Scudder with the assistance of local counsel Randy Grambling and paralegal Patty Carrillo of Kemp Smith tried a weeklong case in El Paso County, Texas arising out of an accident between a tractor-trailer and a Nissan Altima. The QSLWM client stipulated to liability and vicarious liability, so the trial was only about Plaintiff’s damages. The parties and numerous experts testified at trial. In closing argument, Plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury to award Plaintiff $11,400,000 in total damages. After only 30 minutes of deliberation, the jury awarded Plaintiff only $85,000.
