ALFA International Welcomes Three New Client Advisory Board Members

ALFA International (ALFAI) is pleased to announce that Rita Castro, Justin Evenson and Jasmine Kingsley were recently appointed to ALFAI’s Client Advisory Board.

Rita Castro is Associate General Counsel & Director (Claims & Risk Management) with United Rentals, Inc., the world’s largest equipment rental company. The company has an integrated network of 1400+ rental locations in North America, 13 in Europe, 27 in Australia and 19 in New Zealand. Based in Modesto, California, Rita oversees the handling of the company’s auto, general liability, property and workers’ compensation claims. After graduating from UCLA School of Law in 1993, Rita was in private practice, where she gained substantial expertise in handling construction coverage disputes, construction defect litigation and general business matters.

Rita stated, “I am excited and honored to serve on ALFAI’s Client Advisory Board. It will provide a unique opportunity to network with other industry leaders, forge new relationships with ALFAI member firms, and discuss relevant legal topics meaningful to both in-house lawyers and outside counsel.”

Justin Evenson is with Uber Technologies, Inc., and has oversight of safety and insurance volume litigation for the western United States. Justin’s in-house team of attorneys focuses primarily on Uber Rides litigation, with an emphasis on claims from riders and third parties. Having led the safety and insurance litigation strategy for Uber after the passage of Proposition 22 in California, Justin’s core focus is minimizing exposure for the company while furthering business goals. In addition, Justin is actively involved in multiple initiatives at Uber, including supporting diversity and inclusion, providing onboarding and oversight of defense counsel and actively representing Uber at legal seminars, conferences and educational events. Before joining Uber, Justin practiced insurance defense for various firms in San Diego, California.

I am impressed with ALFAI’s vision for serving its organization which is guided by a strong commitment to its mission. Jasmine Kingsley is Chief People and Legal Officer at Hudl, a global leader in sports video technology headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska. She began her legal career in private practice at law firms in San Francisco and Silicon Valley and focused her practice on technology and intellectual property transactions. She joined Hudl as General Counsel in 2015 and currently heads the company’s global Legal, People Operations and Brand/Communications teams. Jasmine earned a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard Law School.

Jasmine added, “The ALFAI network has been an incredibly valuable resource as we have scaled our business and legal operations across the globe. I’ve especially appreciated ALFAI’s enduring commitment to forging and strengthening relationships between clients and outside counsel through exceptional networking and educational opportunities. I’m honored to contribute to this wonderful organization through service on the Client Advisory Board and am excited about the opportunity to share, learn and build new connections along the way! “
