ALFA International Announces Two New Client Advisory Board Members

ALFA International is pleased to announce that April Berman and Edward Blakemore recently joined its Client Advisory Board.

April Berman is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Asurion in Nashville, Tennessee. She is responsible for developing and executing legal strategy in support of business objectives across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions. April’s current areas of focus include oversight of legal matters for Asurion’s operations throughout the United States, Latin America and Canada, along with Asurion’s enterprise compliance program, intellectual property matters, and support of the global supply chain management organization. Before joining Asurion in 2005, April was in private law practice with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Teach for America-Nashville and Chattanooga and is a Director-Middle Tennessee for the ACC, Tennessee Chapter. April received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and holds both a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.

Edward Blakemore is Assistant General Counsel with Rockwell Automation, where he has primary responsibility for the management of all product liability litigation, commercial litigation, environmental liability litigation, and toxic tort litigation filed against the Fortune 500 Company. Prior to joining Rockwell Automation, Mr. Blakemore was Counsel-Litigation for Eaton Corporation where he managed the defense of product liability, commercial, employment, and intellectual property disputes for seven years for the Fortune 500 Company. Ed is the President of the Cuyahoga County Public Library Board of Trustees and is a member of the Applewood Centers Board of Trustees. He earned his B.A. degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and his J.D. degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio.
