ALFAI Announces Launch of Future Leaders Forum and Appointment of Group Leaders

ALFA International, the global legal network, is pleased to announce the formation of the Future Leaders Forum (FLF) and the appointment of Jennifer Reid Egbe as Chair, Janelle Kilies as Vice-Chairand Matthew Parsons as Marketing Chair. The Future Leaders Forum (FLF) was formed to implement ALFA International’s strategic commitment to developing the leadership skills of its young attorneys in order to sustain and grow the ALFA International network for years to come.The Future Leaders Forum (FLF) was formed to implement ALFA International’s strategic commitment to developing the leadership skills of its young attorneys in order to sustain and grow the ALFA International network for years to come. Members of the FLF will learn valuable networking and business development skills and receive guidance for navigating and adapting to increased responsibility in their practice. The members of the group will be trained on how to become successful participants in the ALFA International network by learning about their ALFA International firm colleagues and being educated by ALFA International clients regarding their expectations for outside counsel.

JENNIFER REID EGBE will lead the newly formed practice group as its Chair. Jennifer is a partner with ALFA International member firm Huie, Fernambucq & Stewart, LLP, in Birmingham, Alabama. Jennifer was the first African American female at Huie to make partner. Her practice focuses on environmental litigation, consumer litigation, civil rights litigation, municipal litigation, heavy product liability, business litigation and medical device litigation. Away from the office, Jennifer is involved in a number of service initiatives with local schools, law schools across the state and in the community. A North Carolina native, Jennifer earned her B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

JANELLE KILIES will serve the FLF as its Vice-Chair. Janelle is a partner with ALFA International member firm, Lewis Wagner, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Janelle practices in her firm’s complex litigation group and concentrates on the defense of mass torts and consumer class actions. Janelle has litigated product liability, consumer fraud, false advertising and deceptive marketing claims around the country in both state and federal courts. She also has experience representing clients in investigations and enforcement proceedings involving various governmental agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission. Since joining the firm in 2012, Janelle has been instrumental in preparing and presenting several mock trials and innovative focus group presentations in complex and serious injury cases. Janelle is an active member of ALFA International’s Product Liability & Complex Torts Practice Group and currently serves as the group’s Regional Seminar Chair. Janelle received her J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and her B.A. from Indiana University.

MATTHEW PARSONS will act as the group’s Marketing Chair. Matt is a member of ALFA International firm, Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC, in Lexington, Kentucky. Matt practices as a member of the firm’s Tort, Trial and Insurance Services and Business Litigation practice groups. Matt actively practices in all state and federal courts in Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and other jurisdictions around the country as the needs of each client and case dictate. Matt is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Fayette County Bar Association and has been honored as a Kentucky Super Lawyer Rising Star and by Best Lawyers in America for 2021. Matt is past President of the Fayette County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and currently serves his community on the boards of directors of the FBCA, Lexington Children’s Theatre, and Leadership Lexington Youth Program. He received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law and earned his B.S. from Indiana University.
