About the Webinar:

The issues and legal concerns that employers face in our new COVID-19 world are numerous. This webinar will address a number of those issues and help employers spot issues for further consideration in this ever changing and uncharted environment. Topics for discussion and questions will include:

CANDACE BANKOVICH strives to be a valued business partner for each and every client at ALFA International member firm, Lewis Wagner, in Indianapolis, Indiana. As the Chair of Lewis Wagner’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group, Candace utilizes her experience as former General Counsel for a number of privately held and publicly traded corporations to provide the client service and practical advice that businesses seek. Candace has extensive experience providing proactive prevention counseling on significant employment issues such as employee discipline and termination, employment policies and practices, reductions in workforce, and union avoidance. She frequently works with clients to provide training on employment and management topics and ensures businesses are protected through the use of tailored employment, non-compete, confidentiality and independent contractor agreements when necessary. When legal action is unavoidable, Candace defends businesses of all sizes against employment-related claims, including employment discrimination, wage disputes, wrongful termination, and unfair labor practices. Candace’s diverse background in business allows her to provide focused and strategic advice during federal and state agency investigations and litigation.

MATTHEW HEGARTY is a member at ALFA International member firm, Hall & Evans, in Denver, Colorado. His practice concentrates on trial and appellate litigation, chiefly the defense of matters implicating public entities and their employees under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, of a wide variety of employment discrimination claims, and of ERISA and long-term disability claims, along with defense representation in recreational use law, premises liability matters, construction defect matters, land use matters, and other civil claims. Mr. Hegarty’s clients include a wide variety of municipalities and public officials, small- to medium-sized businesses, and nonprofits throughout Colorado and other Rocky Mountain states. Mr. Hegarty also provides pro bono immigration representation to undocumented women and their families via referrals from Denver’s Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic.

BRIAN LANGS is involved in litigation and general corporate matters at ALFA International member firm, Johnson & Bell, in Chicago, Illinois. His litigation practice focuses on handling business litigation, professional liability lawsuits, and estate planning disputes. He also handles a variety of employment issues for businesses of all sizes. In addition to addressing general corporate issues for his clients, he handles a number of real estate-related issues for them as well. While attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, Mr. Langs held the post of Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He has an undergraduate degree from Boston College.
