As governments continue to strengthen work authorization enforcement, employers must stay ahead of changing compliance obligations. This webinar will examine current U.S. I-9 requirements and enforcement priorities alongside the UK’s new right to work rules, highlighting key risks, compliance trends, and actionable steps for multinational organizations.
Panelists:
KELVIN TANNER is a Partner with Charles Russell Speechlys, ALFA International’s UK member law firm, on its immigration team and a specialist in both corporate and private client immigration. His corporate clients range from multinational companies through to SMEs and start-ups, and he assists them on matters related to their immigration strategy, compliance and the relocation of their staff into the UK. Kelvin assists private clients on the full range of UK immigration applications, with a particular specialism working on the immigration matters of high-net-worth individuals seeking an alternative residence or citizenship. Kelvin regularly assists clients on the immigration aspects of UK inward investment matters, working with companies and entrepreneurs. He also regularly works on complex immigration matters and has had a number of notable successes in persuading the Home Office to exercise its discretion to approve applications outside of the Immigration Rules. Where necessary, Kelvin liaises with a range of Government contacts on the complexities and processing of his applications. Kelvin is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences on both private and corporate immigration matters.
ARTURO ALFARO is an attorney with Plunkett Cooney, ALFA International’s member firm in Bloomfield Hills/Detroit, Michigan. He leads their Immigration Law Practice Group and maintains a multifaceted immigration law practice assisting individuals and families with in-country and overseas nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, as well as corporate clients navigating the complex immigration process seeking work visas for professionals and specialty occupations. Mr. Alfaro also works with the firm’s employment law attorneys to counsel a variety of corporate, municipal, and non-profit entities with immigration-related compliance issues. He currently serves on the board of directors for the State Bar of Michigan’s Immigration Law Section.
ANU JASWAL is an attorney with Nilan Johnson Lewis PA, ALFA International’s member firm in Minneapolis, MN. Anu’s practice focuses on counseling clients on I-9/E-Verify policies and procedures, defending employers in civil immigration enforcement actions, and representing clients in employment-based immigration matters, including labor certification (PERM) applications and nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions. Anu is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s National Documentation and Verification Liaison Committee.
