About the Webinar:

The transportation industry is showing consistent changes through both legal and technological advances. This panel discussion will highlight some trending topics for which businesses and firms should not only know of but become more knowledgeable about to continue growth and adaption within the industry. This panel will discuss numerous changes presented through those advances in technology including rapid response in the automated world and specific devices taking over the industry, along with the preservation of all things technology.  Among other things, the panel will address hotbed transportation issues such as independent contractors vs. employee drivers, dealing with law enforcement, and the best practices in claims documentation.

Panelists:

Danny Bristol is a 12-year litigation attorney with vast trucking industry defense experience.  He has successfully defended trucking companies in complex, high-stakes litigation including wrongful death claims, brain injury cases, and pedestrian accidents. Mr. Bristol also handles subrogation and cargo matters for the trucking industry and practices in state and federal trial and appellate courts. He is a member of the Colorado Motor Carriers’ Association and the Defense Research Institute, and he is recognized by Colorado Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for general litigation.

Andy Douberly is a 7-year litigation attorney in Sarasota, FL who dedicates his practice to auto and trucking defense work. He defends trucking companies and auto carriers in every type of personal injury claim, as well as subrogation and cargo claims for trucking companies. He is the co-chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, a co-chair of Florida’s Twelfth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee–holding his fellow members of the Florida Bar to its professional and ethical standards, and is a member of the Defense Research Institute. Andy has tried trucking and auto cases all over Southwest Florida, and is admitted in Florida’s State and Federal courts.

Zach Hermsen is a trial attorney at Whitfield & Eddy Law in Des Moines, Iowa. Zach represents businesses and individuals in civil litigation. His experience includes defending over-the-road transportation companies in personal injury lawsuits in various Iowa jurisdictions. Zach is from Dubuque, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law with distinction.

Tim Spencer is a civil litigation attorney at Franden | Farris | Quillin | Goodnight + Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His practice covers every state and federal court in Oklahoma, while the firm also provides attorneys who handle matters in the surrounding states.  Tim’s practice emphasizes the defense of transportation companies and individuals in personal injury lawsuits; however, he maintains a general litigation practice, handling matters from business litigation to construction defects.  He is a Tulsa native who graduated law school from the University of Tulsa College of Law with honors. Prior to law school, Tim was a student-athlete at Oklahoma Christian University, where he played on the University’s soccer team.  Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and two-year-old son, while also watching every possible Oklahoma City Thunder game.
