DESCRIPTION:The 2023 ALFA International Construction Law Seminar took place July 26-28\, 2023\, at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in Whistler\, British Columbia\, Canada.  \nReaching New Heights While Avoiding the Precipices\nView 2023 Construction Law Seminar Brochure\nView 2023 Construction Law Seminar Optional Activities Brochure\n \nView 2023 Construction Law Seminar Course Materials\nThe Construction industry continues to thrive in a post-pandemic world\, with cranes continuing to swing throughout North America and the world (the literal “highs”)\, but many challenges continue that could quickly derail a project’s budget and schedule\, some of which occur before you even start the climb. \nThis year\, the ALFAI Construction Law Practice Group hosted another incredible adventure in the Canadian Rockies! With old friends\, new acquaintances\, and the best views\, this seminar guided attendees through the highs and lows of some critical issues facing the construction industry today. From Clean Energy and Resilient Design\, to the Reptile Theory\, and navigating the legal moguls from Contract Negotiation through Project Completion\, our plenaries helped prepare attendees for even the worst of those “black diamond” projects. In addition\, our breakout sessions kept attendees on top of both transactional and litigation cliffs to avoid. Based on previous feedback\, we’ve pared-down to two tracks to help alleviate the difficult decision of which sessions to choose. The first track focused on transactional issues\, such as indemnification and insurance provisions\, while the second track focused on litigation and arbitration.
