Created by the ALFA International Transportation Practice Group in 2015, this 48-state compendium is an important resource provided to ALFA Transportation Practice Group members and participants. It provides a synopsis of significant laws governing: the discoverability of a defendant-driver’s protected health information, the status of the “billed-versus-paid” debate, requirements for the admissibility of “day-in-the-life” videos at trial, and the introduction of CSA scores by the FMCSA following the adjudication of a citation. The Compendium also provides summaries of notable trucking verdicts in the last two years and updated venue maps delineating liberal, moderate and conservative jurisdictions in each State.
This data was intentionally designed only to be a general reference guide, and not an exhaustive analysis of each state's law on these subjects. Should you have questions, please contact a member of the ALFA International Transportation Practice Group who can provide the appropriate in-depth analysis.
