Created by the ALFA International Transportation Practice Group in 2014, this 50-state compendium is an important resource provided to ALFA Transportation Practice Group members and participants. The purpose of the compendium is to provide transportation professionals with a quick reference to applicable law. This year's compendium is a survey of each state's laws on texting and hand held phones; admissibility of preventable/non-preventable reviews and decisions; admissibility of BASICS information; and duties to preserve electronic evidence. The survey was compiled from information submitted by transportation attorneys in ALFA member firms from across the country, many of whom you have met, or will meet at this year's seminar. All of these attorneys and their firms handle transportation cases on a regular basis, and know the issues and points of law that are important to the transportation professional.
This data was intentionally designed only to be a general reference guide, and not an exhaustive analysis of each state's law on these subjects. Should you have questions, please contact a member of the ALFA International Transportation Practice Group who can provide the appropriate in-depth analysis.
